⁶⁸Ge/⁶⁸Ga GENERATOR

In its eluted form as Gallium-68 Chloride (⁶⁸GaCl₃), the generator provides a reliable and convenient source of Ga-68 for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. Gallium-68 is extensively used in oncology, neurology, and cardiology, primarily for radiolabeling biomolecules such as peptides, antibodies, and small molecules targeting specific receptors. It plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) and prostate cancer through widely used PET tracers like. The on-demand availability of Ga-68 without the need for a cyclotron makes this generator an essential tool in nuclear medicine.

CONTENT

Active ingredients:

  • Parent nuclide: (⁶⁸Ge) Germanium-68 (⁶⁸Ge) adsorbed on a matrix, with an activity range of 0.74 GBq to 1.85 GBq per generator (⁶⁸Ge radioactivity on the calibration day).
  • Daughter nuclide: (⁶⁸Ga) Gallium-68 Chloride (⁶⁸GaCl₃) (eluted from the ⁶⁸Ge/⁶⁸Ga generator system).
DEFINITION

The ⁶⁸Ge/⁶⁸Ga generator consists of Germanium-68 (⁶⁸Ge), a long-lived parent isotope, immobilized on a matrix within a column. Through the decay of ⁶⁸Ge (half-life: 270.8 days), the generator continuously produces its short-lived daughter radionuclide, Gallium-68 (half-life: 68 minutes). The Ga-68 obtained from the generator is suitable for direct radiolabeling or further purification to meet high-purity standards required for clinical applications. The PEEK column ensures chemical resistance, biocompatibility, and minimal metal ion leaching, contributing to the generator's stability and reliability in medical use.
